Tsilivi (pronounced
‘Sill-ivi’) overlooks a long sweep of soft sand
– around 5km from the capital Zante. With such sheltered,
calm conditions watersports are ‘big’ here and
you can take your pick from windsurfing, waterskiing, parascending
and banana boating, not to mention ‘sea-biscuit’
rides and conventional boat trips around the island. When
you’ve had enough of the beach the resort offers plenty
in the way of tavernas, shops, bars and restaurants but nevertheless
manages to remain generally quieter than some other south-coast
resorts.
on the beach

The main beach is super clean –
and has had Blue Flag status since 1987.
Get away from the crowds at Bouka beach – it’s
small but the water is nice and shallow and the sand is great.
Amboulla lies just 1km to the west of Bouka beach –
it’s also quiet but there are a few tavernas and a dive/watersports
centre.
Planos beach is really a continuation of Tsilivi and has attracted
its own small collection of tavernas and shops. Parasol rentals.
Tragaki has a small, sandy and shingle beach around 1.5km
from Tsilivi. |
